MAP Gas Cylinder
Description
It is a product specially used to chemically point tungsten (Wolframio) electrodes, producing perfect tips. Used in welding by the TIG process. Sharpening eliminates grinding, which commonly causes splinters and off-center edges.
With the help of Chemical Point, the perfect point is achieved over and over again without any welder effort.
NCM: 31025090
Application
Place the tungsten electrode on the TIG torch leaving it 30mm out of the ceramic or copper nozzle. Then establish a short circuit between the electrode and the bench, until approximately 15mm of the electrode tip glows red. In this operation, the argon shielding gas must be flowing normally in order to avoid tungsten oxidation by the atmospheric air, we recommend a minimum flow of 10 liters per minute.
Immediately place the electrode still red inside the Chemical Point pot making approximately 8mm of the tip dike in contact with the flow. The length should vary according to the desired tip.
Make circular (rotating) movements with the torch until the desired tip is obtained. The product action is active as long as the tungsten electrode is hot (red), so if necessary, reheat it again until you get the desired tip.
The composition of the product does not contain halogen or sulfur elements, therefore, it does not contaminate the tungsten electrodes. The generated smoke is not toxic.
Performance
With a jar of Chemical Point you can make more than 400 notes.
